THANK YOU PARTNERS
Chris Long's Waterboys
WorldServe International has proudly implemented Waterboys well projects since 2014! Named for an often overlooked but integral position on any team, Waterboys unites NFL players from across the league in addressing the clean water crisis in East Africa. Founded by NFL player Chris Long, a serendipitous meeting in Tanzania with WorldServe president, John Bongiorno, and trustee, Doug Pitt, led to Chris’ newfound passion for Tanzania. His desire to give back found a sweet spot with the connections and track record of WorldServe, one of the largest providers of clean water in East Africa.
Speed the Light Matching Challenge
Speed the Light is a student-initiated, volunteer, charitable program that provides much-needed equipment to missionaries in over 180 countries around the world. WorldServe and Speed the Light’s partnership is unique. Students across the United States are raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for water wells in Africa and challenging business people, athletes, churches and many others to match their giving! In 2020 alone, students funded more than 20 water projects and helped to purchase vital drilling equipment to expand into other East African countries.
Tanzania Water Fund
Founder of Tanzania Water Fund and WorldServe International Board Member, Dean Riesen, has raised money and facilitated more than 40 deep drilled, solar-powered water projects! The story of the Tanzania Water Fund illustrates how sustainability and long-term relationships in a concentrated region are creating lasting change for one of the most water-stressed areas of our world. WorldServe International is proud to implement Tanzania Water Fund projects as they provide clean water to over 20,000 Tanzanians each year!
Business Partners
Committed corporate leadership has become the bedrock foundation for the growth of WorldServe. Each year, we work with talented and unique minds that not only fund water projects in Africa, but offer expertise, technologies and goods so our efforts can go farther and faster. We know that clean water is the first step toward strong economies in developing countries, so we partner with organizations that value business and sound economic decisions. Three great business partnerships include Netafim—the world’s leading drip irrigation technology company, UhuruPads—a sustainable, microenterprise that empowers women, Tanzania Water Fund—a funded partnership that has focused on one region in East Africa for an extended period of time to see a maximum, sustainable impact through clean water, and GalMobile—a leading manufacturer of all terrain mobile water solutions.
Global Water Institute at The Ohio State University
As one of the most comprehensive and sustainable water programs in the world, we are proud to partner with The Ohio State University in drilling deep boreholes in the Singida region of Tanzania. This pilot program is transforming villages from the ground up…starting with clean water. Based on the fact that solving water scarcity in Africa depends on a lot more than a new pump, the Global Water Institute works to follow clean water with essential aspects of transformation like agriculture, sanitation, health care and women’s empowerment. We believe that partnerships like this one are propelling us to land among the best non-profit organizations in the world.
Faith Partnerships
The global Church is one of the most committed and faithful givers with which WorldServe is privileged to partner! Striving to live out their faith, churches and organizations from all denominations have made an incredible impact on the world water crisis through both funding wells and traveling to Africa with us. Our experience is that partnering with the local Church, both here and in Africa, is one of the most sustainable ways to solve water scarcity in Africa. That’s why we connect with incredible organizations like Assemblies of God World Missions, James River Church, Hand of Hope and so many more!
