In Tanzania, the average lifespan of a “typical” (charity-funded) well is 6-9 months—affecting nearly 23 million women, men and children in rural communities. Similarly, decades of failed philanthropy have shown that just giving people water isn’t successful or sustainable.

WorldServe works in partnership with local leaders to ensure that its projects are built and maintained for sustainability. Modern pumping technology, driven by solar energy, is a key component of nearly all our projects as are the tools for ongoing financial management and technical service.
