The Water Problem
Lack of access to clean water is a big problem, but together it’s a problem we can fix one village at a time. For people in developing areas, like Kambai Village, gaining access to a clean water resource makes a dramatic impact in the quality of life for themselves, their family, and their community.
Health
Dirty water carries an incredible amount of diseases, bacteria, and contaminants. Diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid, and polio thrive in open pool water sources.
Time
Women and children literally shoulder the burden of finding and collecting water everyday. When hours of your day are spend finding, collecting, and processing water, there is so much less time for other productive endeavors. We want to see kids in school, families growing food, and women having the option to work.
Education
Time and time again, when accessing potential well locations, we encounter young girls at the nearest water pit. School and studying comes second to their family’s need for water.
The Solution
We started by accessing the needs of this community and choosing the best water resource option. For the Father Cosmus at Kambai Village Project, our goal is to drill a deep borehole, install a sustainable solar powered pump and finish the project with a high volume multi head tap system. Part of the assessment process for this project also involves adding a water well on or near the local church.
